Cultural Art Series
The Southeastern Illinois Cultural Arts Series has been bringing quality cultural experiences to Southern Illinois since 1979. Performances range from musical groups and theatrical shows to dance groups and authors.
We are proud that we have kept ticket prices low in keeping with our motto, “Great Shows! Great Value! Close to Home!”
Admission Cost
- General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.
- Family season ticket costs $80 (parents and children) or $50 per person.
- Season tickets may be purchased at the first concert or ordered by mail.
Giving
We also offer levels of giving for those willing to help subsidize our programs.
- $100 sponsors receive five season tickets
- $150 patrons receive seven season tickets.
In addition, we seek underwriters (businesses or individuals) to cover the contract cost of a concert of their choice.

Cultural Arts Series: Ivas John in Concert
Originally from Carbondale, Ivas and the band play extensively throughout the Midwest in over 200 live performances a year, sharing stages with such top shelf acts as Leon Russell, Guitar Shorty, Nick Moss, Lil’ Ed and the Blues Imperials, and the Chicago Rhythm and Blues Kings to name a few. The Ivas John Band is quickly building a reputation as one of the region’s most original and entertaining blues acts. The success of the band and their debut album “Street Music” recently earned them a spot on PBS as part of the nationally televised American Roots program. Auditions for “Bright Star”
Hey students 16 and older! Are you wanting to audition for the musical, “Bright Star”? This musical will be on stage October 1-3 and auditions are Wednesday, August 18 and Thursday, August 19 from 4-6 pm! Reserve your slot HERE! Share with your friends!!
AUDITION INFORMATION
*PER SIC- MASKS MUST BE WORN INDOORS AT ALL TIMES, REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS.
*Up to 4 people are allowed to sign up for each 30 minute time slot. You will need stay through the entire 30 minute slot.
*You will be required sing, perform a monologue, and read an excert(s) from “Bright Star”.
*Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to fill out the required paperwork.
*Please report to Visual and Performing Arts Center lobby when you arrive.
*Song Requirements- 32 bars or 1 minute or music in the style of the show. You must bring sheet music to sing along to (accompanist will be provided) or provide a track to sing along with. NO ACAPELLA AUDITIONS ALLOWED.
*Monologue Requirements- 60-90 second monologue
*Auditions will take place in the theatre
*Auditions are open to any SIC, high school, or community member. All partitipants must be at least 16 years of age.
*Callbacks, if needed, will be scheduled at a later date.
